Our Bundle of Joy!

Well, well, well......Mr. Aidan DID NOT want to wait until 2012 to make his apperance!

On Dec. 4, 2012 at 3:19 a.m., Matt and I welcomed our precious son into the world. He was 7 weeks early! He was definitely our early Christmas present. :)

He weighed 5 lbs. 9 oz, and was 18 1/4" long.

He stayed in the NICU at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill for 8 days. Immediately after birth, he had some minor issues with his lungs. Since the lungs mature during the last few weeks of pregnancy, Aidan missed out on that and his lungs needed a little help breathing. After 24 hours, his lungs were fine! He just needed to be able to regulate his own body temperature and he also needed to gain weight. In the few days after birth, Aidan lost 9 oz. and weighed in at only 5 lbs. The day he was discharged from the hospital (Dec. 12), he weighed 5 lbs. 6 oz.

At his one month check-up, Aidan weighed in at a whopping 8 lbs. 3 oz!! He was 20 1/4" long, too! He is continuing to grow into a very strong, healthy boy.

Fall is here!

Matt and I took advantage of a beautiful Fall day to take a few photos in the backyard.

Nursery Beginnings....

We have officially started decorating the nursery!! Our theme is animals....mostly giraffes. Aidan will have to like giraffes. He has no choice. He already has like 5 and he isn't even born yet!

The cutest giraffe he has (purchased from the Smithsonian this summer):

Matt and I began painting this past weekend. Well, Matt began painting. I helped tape. We've gotten the first step of the 2 step process. Who knew creating a multi-colored stripe around the room would be so difficult?! Here's a preview of the first stripe. Two more will be added (different color than this one).

Some of Aidan's clothes are already hanging in the closet, and the rest are in need of being taken out of their bags. For now, they can stay put until we get the furniture in place.

"It" no more!!!! A baby boy is on the way!

Baby Rohring can now be called Aidan Matthew Rohring!!! We (Molson included) are all thrilled to learn the news that B.R. will be decked out in blue!

There's no denying that he's a HE!

He has nice long legs and toes (like his parents).
We also think he has Matt's nose. I guess we'll see in January or so......

He also knows that he must raise his hand to speak....the true son of 2 teachers! :)
