Update to our busy, but awesome, year

Well...the last several months have FLOWN by! Aidan is turning 7 months old tomorrow! WOW. He is now over 18 lbs. and longer than 28"!! Much different from his 5 lb. 9 oz., 18 1/4" beginning to life on this world.

Over the past few months, Matt and I have learned a lot. Here are some things we learned on our journey through parenthood:

**sleep is precious!
**you can function on VERY little sleep
**time management is essential
**the little moments in life really do matter
**always keep a camera near by and ready to go to capture those memories
**a child's smile is the very best thing in life
**kids are expensive...
**but kids are priceless!

Aidan has achieved a lot in his short life so far. He rolled over at 2 months. He sat up on his own at 4 1/2 months. He got 2 teeth at 6 months. He's also very close to crawling right now! Once he's mobile...life will change again! :) In June, he visited Niagara Falls for the very first time! He slept through most of it, though.

Here are some recent photos. Enjoy!

Our Bundle of Joy!

Well, well, well......Mr. Aidan DID NOT want to wait until 2012 to make his apperance!
On Dec. 4, 2012 at 3:19 a.m., Matt and I welcomed our precious son into the world. He was 7 weeks early! He was definitely our early Christmas present. :)
He weighed 5 lbs. 9 oz, and was 18 1/4" long.
He stayed in the NICU at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill for 8 days. Immediately after birth, he had some minor issues with his lungs. Since the lungs mature during the last few weeks of pregnancy, Aidan missed out on that and his lungs needed a little help breathing. After 24 hours, his lungs were fine! He just needed to be able to regulate his own body temperature and he also needed to gain weight. In the few days after birth, Aidan lost 9 oz. and weighed in at only 5 lbs. The day he was discharged from the hospital (Dec. 12), he weighed 5 lbs. 6 oz.
At his one month check-up, Aidan weighed in at a whopping 8 lbs. 3 oz!! He was 20 1/4" long, too! He is continuing to grow into a very strong, healthy boy.
We are in love!
